At last!! We notched our first win tonight at home v Four Oaks Squash Club A, who are a really strong team and only came unstuck last week v EPC Squash and Racketball who feature current and ex PSA players amongst their ranks! A close win 3-2 (17-7) and hopefully this will now kick start our season! Next up on Wednesday 7th December is the away trip to EPC Squash and Racketball - wonder who they will bring into their ranks for this ...?

Further explanation behind the 'logic' for the rebrand of racketball to 'Squash 57' from the World Squash Federation: http://www.worldsquash.org/ws/squash-57/why-squash-57
Why Squash 57? A small number of countries around the world play Racketball, with each only having quite small or tiny numbers of players. The major exception is England where Racketball has been g…
Good job we never included the word 'Racketball' in our club name! What are the thoughts of our 'Squash 57' devotees out there? http://www.worldsquash.org/ws/news/28730
Racketball will be rebranded as Squash 57 in an initiative spearheaded by the World Squash Federation …
A makeshift score sheet and unfortunately showing a narrow loss for Lichfield Tempest to table toppers Bilston. Some very close matches so could have easily gone our way. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways next Wednesday 17th August away at Oak Park. #GoLichfield Tempest Ford Lichfield
England Squash is asking squash players of all abilities based in England to complete a survey about squash facilities in their areas. There is a chance to win £50 of high street vouchers too. Full details and the link are below: A key responsibility of England Squash is to maintain the number of squash courts across the country and reduce the risks of courts closing. We continue to work in partnership with local authorities, universities and clubs to help them develop ways to keep their courts sustainable and in good condition. This summer we are developing a new strategy that takes a deeper look at what facilities are available across the country, what condition they are in, as well as what squash players really want from their courts. We would value your input into this and are asking squash players of all abilities to complete our short online survey. If you complete the survey by the end of August, you will be entered in to a draw to win £50 of high street vouchers*. To find the survey please click here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/EnglandSquashFacilitiesSurvey We will be reporting our findings and suggestions back to our members, facilities and Sport England in the Autumn. Many thanks and best wishes Keir Worth Chief Executive *You must enter a valid email address to qualify for the draw and complete the survey by the 31st August 2016. The winner will be drawn at random from the qualifying entrants and notified by email.
Good to see Lichfield Tempest get back to winning ways last night, although Oak Park pushed us close! Well played all. Tempest Ford Lichfield
Narrow defeat to Burnwood Desperados last Wed.
Almost forgot we were sent this when we first set up the Club back in 2012. Will get it ironed and mounted in a nice frame so it can be displayed by the courts.
Very concerning development. Time for the Club to consider the possibility of taking over the running of the KEVI squash courts at some stage in the future? It could then be run like a proper club ... http://m.lichfieldmercury.co.uk/8203-Lichfield-leisure-centre-s-future-question/story-29131590-detail/story.html?2

Lichfield 2 Win the Derbyshire Winter League Division 4! Team Captain Alan Greaves reports ... Another successful season for the 2nd team following on from last year when we were promoted to division 4 after comfortably winning the league in division 5. Congratulations to all of the players for an amazing season where we finished with 180 points some 63 points clear of the second place team Duffield 5. The league results read played 10 won 10 well done to all! Not only did we win the league we also have six players ranked in the top 10 in the players ranking table. Top of the rankings was our own number 1 Ben Estaugh with Gary Snowden at 4, Rob Lord at 5, me the captain and senior citizen at 8, Mark Davey at 9 and Andy Whittingham at 10. Well done lads! The team has also qualified for the Knockout Cup and is waiting to see who they will be playing in the semi-final, it will be between Burton 4 or Alfreton 1 with the final played at Queens Park on 17th April. If we can field a full team we should hopefully be capable of reaching the final as we have beaten both teams already in the league. Fingers Crossed. Next year will be tough in division 3 but the team has confirmed that they wish to stick together, if anyone would like to be considered for the second team please contact me (Alan Greaves) email firstname.lastname@example.org

So it's Tempest Ford Lichfield who took the club and sponsor bragging rights over Blade Squash UK, triumphing 4-1 (17-7) in an enjoyable, sporting encounter with some split and confused loyalies in evidence! All matches were close, even the 3 nils. Tempest continue with their quest for the title whilst Blade will try to cement their mid table status. Next matches see Tempest host Oak Park at KEVI Leisure Centre next Wednesday 2nd March, whilst Blade will host the Burntwood Desperados the following Wednesday 9th March.
Who will triumph red or black? It's the all Lichfield Central Squash League clash ...
Good luck to both our Central Squash teams tonight - Blade at home to high flying Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis and Squash Club, Tempest away at the Buntwood Desperados.
